Missouri Town 1855

It was in 2007 when Tashi first took me to Missouri Town 1855. It was also during their annual Fall Festival so it was packed especially with kids.

Today was kind of a spur-of-the-moment activity for us. We thought it would be a good idea to go back to Missouri Town after eight years. It was.

There was no on-going special event and the place just looked like an ordinary town in the 1800’s. It was actually nice. I got to take a look at everything and took my time in doing so.  We also got the chance to meet and talk to some of their knowledgeable staff who gave me an impromptu lecture about the battle between Missouri and Kansas.

This is the town’s general store. Don is actually the Blacksmith. We got the chance to meet him and listen to his stories especially about Fort Osage whom he mentioned  is one of the haunted sites in Missouri. I think I now have an idea on where Tashi and I are going next week.

Classroom. It was only during Winter that children go to school because they had to work and help their parents tend their farm.
